WISDOM FROM A FOURTH GRADER

“Learning is boring,” my fourth grade grandson told me one day as I picked him up from school. On the first day of school two weeks before he told me he had the best teacher in the world. How did things change so quickly?

“How can learning be boring when there is so much cool stuff out in the world?” I asked him.

He described what learning was like in his classroom. “You don’t learn things by listening to a blabbering teacher who is writing on the board. Then you have to act like a slave copying down what the teacher wrote.”

“How do you learn things?” I asked him.

“You learn by being active with your friends.”

YOU LEARN BY BEING ACTIVE WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
